Clarence seems to be the sole member of the music department at GameAVision. Likely due to his love for music, he sings every speaking line. He is also flamboyantly gay and his dream is to have anonymous sex with a different man every single night. He is even quoted for saying he wouldn't sleep with Dean, but then changed his mind after a moment of reflection because, 'that's just how gay he is'. Dave is usually seen encouraging his homosexuality, with the rest of the GameAVision team being largely indifferent, with some noteworthy exceptions including Mr. Larrity. Clarence also seems to have supernatural abilities, such as the power of flight and the ability to pass through solid objects, which hints at him possibly being an actual fairy. Clarence once dated Manly Man Ricky Ravage in the episode Wrassle Mania.
Relationships[]
Dave - Dave supports and encourages Clarence, and sometimes even weaponizes Clarence's homosexuality to his advantage. In The Woz, Clarence was used to help drive away a family friendly game company who wanted to buy GameAVision. In Third Reich's the Charm, Clarence revealed an ability to walk through locked doors and Dave said with a sigh, "I wish I was gay."
Jerry- Jerry is friendly to Clarence, and even confided in him in Just One of the Gamers. Jerry was having feelings for, a then cross dressing, Mary and was questioning his sexuality. Clarence reassured Jerry's trust in him, and sung, "Your secret's safe with me, Jerry! I won't tell Dave or Clare or Mary!" The fact Clarence not only kept Jerry's secret without hesitation, but also didn't use it for personal gain or to blackmail him, implies Clarence could be the most trustworthy member of GameAVision. Although, later in the same episode, Clarence willfully played a part in Dave pranking Jerry, which resulted in Jerry kissing Clarence in a dark closet after Dave convinced Jerry that Mary was waiting inside.
Mr. Larrity- Mr. Larrity has little interaction with Clarence and, while not attacking his sexual orientation, does display more open distaste for it compared to the others. Due to it being in the 1980's, it was legal to do that, even in California. Larrity even called him "whatever the hell that thing was" when he first joined GameAVision. However, despite Mr. Larrity's obvious repulsion towards Clarence's glaring homosexuality, he has never once threatened to fire Clarence. This makes Clarence one of the few GameAVision employees who has never had their employment directly thrown into jeopardy by Mr. Larrity.
Dean- Dean is probably too stupid to know Clarence is gay and is likely often taken advantage of in this way. In the episode "Drunken Office Party", Dean reveals he was tricked by Dave into putting Clarence's "bon-bons" in his "he-hole". Clarence then enters and sings, "Hey Dean, the ice cream man is in my pants!", which Dean exclaims, "Sweet! I just got my allowance!"
Todd- Todd likely sees Clarence as inferior, but this is typical for how Todd views the people around him. There are very few interactions between the two.
Black Steve- Black Steve shows a soft spot for Clarence, and there has even been hints that Black Steve takes on an almost fatherly role with him. In the episode Vegas,Baby!, Black Steve invited Clarence to the gun range, where he was seen tutoring Clarence on gun handling. The recoil from Clarence's first shot sent Clarence flying backwards across the room, causing him to hit a stranger, knocking them both down. The stranger stood up and asked, "You okay, buddy?" Clarence replied with, "Now that you're here, stud." This immediately caused the three strangers at the gun range to take offense at Clarence's now obvious homosexuality. When they aimed their guns at Clarence, Black Steve rushed to Clarence's defense and quickly shot all three of the homophobic aggressors. Black Steve and Clarence then fled the scene in a hurry.
Mary- Mary doesn't interact with Clarence much, but would say something to him in the moment.
Clare- Clare doesn't interact with Clarence much, but would say something to him in the moment.
